Cookie Policy

Short version: this site does not use cookies, and there is nothing for you to accept or manage.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so it can recognise you the next time you visit. Cookies are how most sites count visitors, remember preferences, and follow people between sites for advertising.

2. What we use

We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. We do not use tag managers, advertising pixels, session recording, heatmaps or social media trackers. Nothing on this site follows you to another site, and nothing about your visit is shared with an advertising network.

3. How we count visitors instead

We use the analytics built into Framer, the platform this website runs on. It works without cookies and without creating any identifier that persists.

To work out how many people visited on a given day, it combines your IP address and browser type with a secret value that changes every day and is destroyed at the end of it. The result cannot be linked back to you, and it cannot be matched to the same person across two days.

What we see is how many people read a page. What we do not see is who they were.

4. Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner is required when a site stores something on your device that is not strictly necessary, or when it shares your data with a third party for tracking. This site does neither.

Adding a banner that asks permission for nothing would be theatre. If we later add anything that needs consent, a banner will appear before that thing runs, not afterwards.

5. What we do collect

We collect personal data when you give it to us, for example when you request a demonstration, ask for a copy of your calculator results, or subscribe to articles. That has nothing to do with cookies, and the privacy policy explains all of it.

6. Search Console

We use Google Search Console to see how this site appears in search results, which pages are indexed, and what people searched for before arriving. It places nothing on your device and receives nothing about your visit from this site. What it shows us comes from Google's own record of its search results, not from you.

7. Third-party content

We do not embed advertising, social media widgets, video players or comment systems, all of which commonly set cookies on the sites that use them.

Typefaces are served from our own infrastructure rather than requested from a font service, so no third party sees your visit.

Where we link to another site, that site has its own rules and its own cookies once you arrive there.

8. Changes

If this changes, this page changes first. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
