THE CORE INDUSTRY
A Seveso inspector does not just look at your equipment, they look at whether your management system actually works in practice. That ruled a lot of things out. A hazard could not be a line of text in a form, it needed an owner and a review date. An isolation could not be a tickbox, it had to genuinely stop the permit from opening.
None of that is specific to chemicals. A machine shop will never be audited to Seveso standard, but the accident is identical: somebody works on equipment that turned out to be live. That is why the same system covers the other five sectors on this page without being cut back for any of them.

WHAT THEY HAVE IN COMMON
Whether you’re refining crude or moulding automotive parts, the same problems come up, which is why one system covers all six sectors without being watered down for any of them.
These are consequences of running three separate tools, which is why the fix is the same on a refinery and a loading dock.
